Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how UNPROTON Labs handles information across Explainly, InvoiceKit, PDFStamper, our website, licensing systems, support channels, and related software services.
We build practical software for productivity, documents, and business workflows. Our general approach is to collect only what is needed to operate, license, secure, support, and improve our products.
Information We Collect
Depending on the product or service you use, UNPROTON Labs may collect or process the following information:
- Email addresses used for accounts, support, product updates, or license delivery.
- License information, license keys, plan details, activation status, and entitlement records.
- Transaction IDs, payment status, refund status, and purchase metadata received from payment processors.
- Installation identifiers or device-level activation identifiers used to validate licenses and reduce abuse.
- Support communications, including messages you send to support@unproton.com and related diagnostic context you choose to provide.
- Basic technical information needed to keep services reliable, secure, and compatible.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide the products, validate paid licenses, process purchases and refunds, respond to support requests, protect against fraud or misuse, maintain security, and communicate important product or legal updates.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use local PDF or invoice content for advertising. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional content unless you explicitly opt in.
Third-Party Services
UNPROTON Labs uses selected third-party services to operate the business:
- Paddle may process payments, taxes, invoices, subscriptions where applicable, refunds, fraud checks, and transaction records.
- Supabase may provide account, database, authentication, storage, or cloud-save infrastructure for products that need it.
- Resend may send transactional email, support replies, account messages, license delivery emails, and product notices.
These providers process information according to their own privacy and security terms. We use them only where they are relevant to product delivery, licensing, payment, account, or communication workflows.
Product-Specific Privacy
Explainly
Explainly may use Google OAuth for account sign-in or authorization, Gemini AI and Groq for AI-powered explanation features, Supabase for account and cloud-save infrastructure, and Resend for transactional communication. When you ask Explainly to explain content, the selected content and related prompt context may be sent to the relevant AI provider to generate the requested response. Cloud saves may store user-selected content, preferences, or history depending on the feature you enable.
InvoiceKit
InvoiceKit is designed for local invoice generation. Invoice content, contract data, client details, and business figures stay on your own device unless a feature clearly states otherwise. License validation may send license keys, email address, installation identifiers, activation status, and purchase metadata to confirm paid access and enforce license limits. Payment card details are handled by Paddle rather than UNPROTON Labs.
PDFStamper
No PDF uploads. PDFStamper is designed for local PDF processing. PDFs are processed on your device. UNPROTON Labs does not upload your PDFs for stamping, does not retain PDF documents, and does not store the contents of your processed files.
Security Measures
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including access controls, service-level security settings, limited operational access, and vendor systems designed for secure payment, account, and email workflows.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe you have found a security issue, contact us at support@unproton.com.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including account operation, license validation, support, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. For license records, deletion requests may deactivate the related license where the record is required to prove or validate access.
Local product data stored on your device remains under your control unless you choose to use a cloud feature.
User Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also request information about how your data is used.
To make a privacy request, contact support@unproton.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Where applicable, including in the EU/EEA, you may also have rights to erasure and data portability.
Children
UNPROTON Labs products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes may be communicated through the website, product notices, or email where appropriate.
